Villa target Mutch set for stunning move to Asia

Former Crystal Palace midfielder Jordon Mutch is said to be on the verge of finalising a move to Asia, according to the Bristol Post.

The 27-year-old had been linked with moves to numerous Championship clubs, including Aston Villa, where it had been suggested that he was set to spend a week on trial.

Having been released by Palace at the start of January, the Derby-native was on a mission to resurrect his career.

Joining the Eagles in 2015, the two-way player failed to make in an impact, making just 40 appearances in his time at Selhurst Park.

Loan opportunities came at Reading and with the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer, and now it looks like he could be jetting off again – but this time, to the other side of the world.

Preparing to sign for Gyeongnam of South Korea on a free transfer, the Changwon Football Center clearly a far cry from Villa Park.
