Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings will have a medical at Aston Villa today ahead of a loan move.

As reported by Sky Sports, the deal will see the 25-year-old join Villa until the end of the season.

The deal will also include a “matching option” clause, which will allow Dean Smith’s side the chance to match any offer made by any other club for a permanent transfer in the summer.

Nottingham Forest had already agreed a loan fee with The Cherries for Mings, but the decision has been made for him to move to Villa Park.

Villa are looking to make a promotion push in the second half of the season and see Mings as a player who can help them secure a place in the playoffs.

The Villans are currently four points behind sixth-placed Derby County, but the Rams do have a game in hand.
