Boost for Villa as Tuanzebe close to return

Aston Villa have received a big boost after centre-back Axel Tuanzebe revealed that he will return from injury “soon”, according to a report on the Birmingham Mail.

The young defender has been sidelined since mid-December after suffering a broken foot.

The 21-year-old returned to his parent club Manchester United for his recovery and he could be back playing for the Championship side very soon.

He posted on Instagram that he is expecting to be back in action soon.

Villa are currently in tenth place in the Championship table and are hoping to finish in the playoff places.

Before Tuanzebe’s injury, Villa looked solid at the back, with the youngster forming a strong partnership with James Chester.

But since Tuanzebe has been absent, Dean Smith’s side have only kept two clean sheets in 12 matches, with Tommy Elphick and Tyrone Mings filling in at the back.
