Villa player ratings: Stoke (A)

Aston Villa came from behind at the Bet365 Stadium to earn themselves a point and deny Stoke their first win in 6 matches.

The home side took the lead with just 5 minutes on the clock when a Sam Vokes back-heel found its way into the net, despite Jed Steer, who was standing in for Lovren Kalinic, getting a firm hand on it.

Nothing else really happened in the next 40 minutes as the two teams cancelled each other out.

Villa came out in the second-half with more impetus and were putting Stoke under a lot more pressure, and that pressure told in the 60th minute when Albert Adomah calmly converted a cross by Anwar El Ghazi to score his first goal of the season.

Villa pushed on for all three points, but both Tammy Abraham and Tyrone Mings were denied by two fine saves by Jack Butland in the Stoke goal.
