Grealish’s performance vs Birmingham in pictures

Jack Grealish was in the thick of the action in Aston Villa’s derby victory over Birmingham on Sunday.

The midfielder captained his side to a 1-0 victory at St. Andrew’s, leading by example by scoring the only goal of the game to ensure Villa had the bragging rights at the end of a heated affair.

Grealish was the victim of an ugly incident just 10 minutes into the game, as he was attacked by a Birmingham fan who ran onto the pitch and punched him in the face from behind.

Credit must be given to the Villa captain, who responded calmly in the immediate aftermath of the shocking attack in what was already a heated derby match.

And Grealish had the last laugh after scoring the winner for Villa, rifling in an effort from the edge of the area to move his side to within four points of the playoffs.

We’ve taken a look at the pictures that summed up the Villa captain’s eventful day.
