Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause is doubtful for this weekend’s Championship match against Bristol City, according to a report on the Express and Star.

The centre-back, who is on loan from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, is in a race against time to be fit for Saturday’s match.

Villa boss Dean Smith is likely to turn to Mile Jedinak to fill in at centre-back after Tyron Mings got sent off in midweek.

Hause is struggling with a hip problem. Smith said:

Kortney is going to struggle. I’ll leave it as late as possible but it’s looking doubtful at the moment. He’s got a hip flexor problem and it can affect the abdominal side of it.

If he’s not ready we’ve got people who can go and play there as Mile showed on Wednesday evening.

Bristol City currently sit in sixth place, one point behind Villa, but the visitors have a game in hand.
