Aston Villa set to sign new Kappa kit deal

Aston Villa have only partnered with local brand Luke Sport for one season, but reliable reports suggest the club will jump ship this summer and link up with brand Kappa for the 2019-20 kits.

Villa currently have a merchandising deal with Fanatics, meaning they don’t have their own brand present on their home, away or third shirts this term and the brands don’t actually manage the production process.

According to fan blog 7500 to Holte, as cited by Footy Headlines, the Midlands club will wear the fresh strips from next season onwards.

It’s important to note it was the same source to break the news about the Luke Sport deal a year ago, so it’s very believable.

Kappa have been used by fellow Championship high-fliers Leeds United this season, while foreign clubs Napoli, AS Monaco and Real Betis also wear their kits.

Will Villa be wearing the new shirts in the Premier League though? That remains to be seen.

matchday.
