Aston Villa are the latest club to show an interest in signing Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo, according to a report from Football League World.
FLW say that a source close to the Villans has informed them that Aribo is one of their potential summer transfer targets, meaning they’ll be battling the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City for the 22-year-old.
Aribo, who like Villa will soon be featuring in a Playoff final having helped guide Charlton to the League One final, has been in great form this season, bagging 10 goals and five assists.
His performances under Lee Bowyer have reportedly attracted the interest of a number of clubs, both in England and abroad, and the youngster is set to make a move this summer, regardless of whether Charlton are promoted or not.
Villa’s transfer plans could change depending on whether they are promoted but it looks Aribo could be a target regardless of what division Villa end up playing in next season.
