Aston Villa have lodged a £7.5m offer for Luton Town left-back James Justin this week.

According to Football Insider, Villa have made the first move to sign Justin as they look to steal a march on the other clubs interested in a deal for the defender.

The report claims that Villa want to sign Justin regardless of whether or not they win the play-off final against Derby later this month, having been impressed with his performances in League One this season.

Luton secured the League One title and, with that, promotion to the Championship and Justin was one of their star players.

The young left-back’s performances also earned him a nomination for EFL Young Player of the Season alongside Derby’s Harry Wilson, on loan from Liverpool, and Norwich’s Max Aarons.

Justin ultimately missed out on the award, with Aarons winning the crown, but Justin’s inclusion in the short-list is an achievement in of itself.
