Terry a surprise contender for the Boro job

John Terry has emerged as a surprise contender for the Middlesbrough job, according to reports.

As per claims from talkSPORT, as cited on the Daily Mail, Villa’s number two is reportedly on their radar as they seek a permanent replacement for Tony Pulis.

Terry is highly thought of in the game and has been learning his trade alongside Dean Smith this season.

He has helped the club this season push into the play-offs as they prepare to face Derby County at Wembley for a place in the Premier League.

Terry has never hidden his intentions to break into club management and his current role at Villa is certainly a step towards taking the top job further down the line.

A host of names, including Slavisa Jokanovic, have been linked with the vacant Boro job.

Fellow ex-England defender Jonathan Woodgate is among the favourites having been among the coaching staff at the club already.
