Villa bid £9m for Brentford’s Said Benrahma

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa have made a £9million bid for Brentford’s Said Benrahma.

Dean Smith signed the talented Algerian on a four-year contract last summer when he was still manager at Griffin Park, and it looks like he now wants to bring the forward to Villa Park.

The 23-year-old had a great debut campaign in the Championship, scoring 11 goals and providing an impressive 17 assists in 39 appearances.

To put that into some perspective, he scored seven more goals and provided 15 more assists than Albert Adomah.

There are supposedly a number of other clubs chasing his signature so it looks like Brentford will have to resign themselves to losing him after just one season.

It could get even worse for Brentford as Neil Maupay has also been heavily linked with a reunion with his former manager.
