Aston Villa could make move for Burnley’s Tom Heaton

Aston Villa could be set to make a move for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton this summer.

According to The Mirror, Aston Villa and Bournemouth are both interested in a deal to sign the shot-stopper in the coming weeks.

The report claims that Heaton has rejected the chance to sign a new contract with Burnley, which has caught the attention of both clubs – as they look for new number ones ahead of next season.

Heaton has one year left on his current deal at Burnley and the club could be tempted to sell him this summer rather than risk losing him on a free at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

The 33-year-old has played 200 games in all competitions for Burnley since joining the club from Cardiff in 2012 and played 19 times in the Premier League for Sean Dyce last term.

Villa have already signed Anwar El Ghazi, Kortney Hause, Jota and Wesley following their promotion back to the top-flight.
