Stoke City have rejected a £12m offer from Bournemouth for Aston Villa transfer target Jack Butland.
According to The Mirror, Stoke turned down Bournemouth’s bid as it fell short of their valuation of the England international.
Villa have been heavily linked with a move for Butland as Dean Smith looks to sign a new number one for their Premier League campaign, despite Jed Steer ending the Championship season strongly and being handed a new contract.

The report claims that Stoke are holding out for a fee in the region of £20m for Butland, after an impressive season in the Championship for the English shot-stopper.
Butland was also included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Nations League finals earlier this summer, along with Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Burnley’s Tom Heaton.
Bournemouth are said to also be in the market for a goalkeeper, due to Eddie Howe wanting an upgrade on Asmir Begovic.
