According to Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett, Burnley swiftly rejected the bid from Villa.

He claims that Villa, however, are not willing to pay over the odds to sign the England international, due to his age and contract status.
The 33-year-old has one year left on his contract at Burnley, meaning that he could leave the club on a free transfer next summer if he fails to agree a new deal at Turf Moor.
Dorsett also claims that Villa have their eye on another goalkeeper, although the name of the player is unknown at this moment in time.
Villa are also on the verge of completing a £15m deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz.
