Villa prepared to offer Hourihane to Leeds as part of Phillips deal

Aston Villa are prepared to offer Conor Hourihane to Leeds United in an attempt to land Kalvin Phillips this summer.

According to TeamTalk, Villa have offered Leeds the choice of taking Hourihane, Henri Lansbury or James Bree as they look to strike a deal for Phillips.

This is despite Hourihane recently signing a new contract with Villa, after playing a key role for the club in the Championship last season.

The report claims, however, that Leeds are unlikely to be interested in any swap-deal for their midfield star and are still hoping that they can tie him down to a new deal at Elland Road.

Phillips caught the eye with his impressive performances in the Championship last season and was named in the Team of the Season earlier this year.

Villa are looking to sign a central midfielder to bolster their squad, but could have to look elsewhere if Leeds refuse to sell.
