Bundesliga trio keen on Aston Villa target Ampadu

Aston Villa are thought to be interested in taking Chelsea midfielder Ethan Ampadu on a season-long loan this summer.

However, according to the Express, cited by the Daily Star, German trio RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen on the versatile midfielder.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard recently revealed that the midfielder would more than likely head out on loan this summer in search of regular first-team action.

Villa have been named as potential suitors for the youngster, with Dean Smith short on holding midfield options ahead of the club’s top-flight return.

However, the Bundesliga trio would be able to offer the Wales international European football, something Villa cannot yet provide.

Numeorus British youngsters have made the move to Germany in recent years, so Ampadu may well be tempted to spend a year in the Bundesliga over a potential move to Villa Park.

Villa are tracking numerous holding midfielders alongside Ampadu, with Manchester City’s Douglas Luiz, Club Brugge’s Marvelous Nakamba and Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips all linked with a move to the club in recent weeks.
