Liverpool fans mock Ahmed Elmohamady’s celebration

When Ahmed Elmohamady’s cross deflected off Morgan Boyes and looped over Caoimhín Kelleher to make it 2-0 to Aston Villa in the League Cup quarter-final, plenty of observers probably thought it was a bit harsh on the young Liverpool side, who’d performed quite well up to that point.

One thing that plenty of Reds’ fans watching did notice was Elmohamady’s celebration after the goal and it’s fair to say that they weren’t too impressed!

Here’s what some of them had to say about it.

It’s hard to really have a go at a player for celebrating a goal, but such is the world that we live in that such things are open to being mocked.

The goal was very flukey, there’s no doubting that at all, but Elmohamady is keen to make an impression to get back into the first-team on a regular basis and being involved in a goal was clearly important to him.

Obviously, these Liverpool fans didn’t see it that way though!

matchday.
