Anwar El Ghazi was handed a Premier League start by Aston Villa manager Dean Smith on Saturday.
Villa fell to a 2-1 defeat against the Cherries, despite the hosts being reduced to ten men in the second period.
The winger was hauled off after 58 minutes by Smith and was replaced by Keinan Davis.
Many Villa fans were not impressed by the winger’s display at the Vitality Stadium and feel that he should drop back to the bench.
The 24-year-old has managed to score four goals and has also registered four assists in the top-flight this season (Transfermarkt).
However, his last goal involvement was on the first day of December, netting in the 6-1 defeat against Manchester City.
Many fans feel that his form simply isn’t good enough to warrant a starting position, especially with the club in a fierce relegation battle at the moment.
These fans expressed their concerns on Twitter.
Twitter: @villareport Seen more from Davis in 30 mins than I have from El Ghazi for the past 2 months (@JoshDonagheyAV)
Twitter: @AVFCOfficial Think El Ghazi needs to be used off the bench. Doesn’t do enough. (@westsport)
Twitter: @jkalra14 Davis and Sumatta looked really good, Sumatta is a clever player & will get goals. They should both start, El Ghazi’s a passenger (@donners99)
Twitter: Hause has got to be dropped next game.
Engels, Konsa and Mings as the back 3
Or do we got 4 at the back again?!… https://t.co/abz8VvYu5g (@AstonVilla_info)
Twitter: @davidsummers64 My biggest issue is he keeps picking el ghazi, that is a worry going into the last 13 games. (@readajp1964)
Twitter: Pointless starting Trezeguet or El Ghazi since they rarely turn up, Jack no10 behind two strikers, extra man in mid… https://t.co/s8x3lIEAoC (@avfc741)
