Man City have more interest in Jack Grealish than Man United

Manchester City have shown more interest in signing Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish than their local rivals Manchester United have, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Speaking on the Ornstein and Chapman podcast with co-host Mark Chapman, Ornstein revealed that, despite plenty of speculation linking Grealish with a move to United, that it’s actually City who’ve shown more interest in taking the Villa captain to Manchester.

He also revealed that Grealish would be happy to make a move this summer to a side which is playing Champions League football.

From Villa’s point of view, losing their captain would be an almighty blow as he is generally regarded as the best player at the club.

However, with the captain under contract, Villa still hold plenty of leverage in any deal and as such, they’ll be able to demand a large fee if any clubs do come calling.

As such, the news that cash-rich City are in the mix for the player too, rather than just United, is somewhat of a double-edged sword as their interest perhaps makes it more likely that Grealish will leave but also increases their chances of getting a big fee for their star player.
