Aston Villa fans are overjoyed as Barkley’s late winner downs Leicester

Aston Villa fans were left delighted by their last-gasp 1-0 win away to Leicester City on Sunday night.

The Villains made the trip to the King Power Stadium aiming to keep up their 100 percent start to the season.

In fact, Everton’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Saturday meant they were the only Premier League team not to drop a point yet in 2020/21.

For the much of the game against Leicester, it looked as though both teams would leave with a share of the spoils. The two sides huffed and puffed for a winner, but the final ball wasn’t quite there, with Villa arguably the more dangerous team.

Just as it appeared as though both Dean Smith and Brendan Rodgers were content with a point, Ross Barkley struck from distance in stoppage time, finding the bottom corner.

Barkley and his Villa teammates celebrated in delighted fashion and they saw out the final few moments to make it four wins out of four.

It was a brilliant response to the unforgettable 7-2 victory over Liverpool in their last outing, leaving fans dreaming of what the team could achieve this season, following such a great start.

These Villa supporters took to Twitter to react to the win, with positivity the order of the day.
