Many Aston Villa fans have looked back on the last time they met Arsenal ahead of Sunday night’s clash between the teams.

Dean Smith’s side battled hard against the threat of relegation last season, producing an impressive run of results towards the run-in to keep themselves in the top flight.

Featured in that good run of form was an impressive 1-0 win over Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, with Egyptian winger Trezeguet scoring the only goal of the game just before the half-hour mark.

Villa’s start to the season has been impressive, winning the opening four league matches of the campaign before two defeats in their last two games, whilst Arsenal have had similar form, winning four and losing three to leave them ninth, just one place behind Smith’s charges.

Looking ahead to the game, Villa’s official Twitter account has now teased fans with a look back at Trezeguet’s goal in the teams’ previous meeting in July, when current Villans ‘keeper Emiliano Martinez came up against his future team-mates.
