Aston Villa fans rejoice over new deal for Jacob Ramsey

Aston Villa confirmed on Tuesday that Jacob Ramsey signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal as a reward for his development.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut in a 2-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion two years ago and has risen through the youth ranks to become a presence in the first team.

Ramsey posted impressive goals and assists tallies at underage level and has already played 14 times for Villa’s first team. Dean Smith loaned out Conor Hourihane last month in preference of the 19-year-old, so his future looks bright at Villa Park.

Ramsey is enjoying a breakout season in 2020/21, featuring 11 times for the first team. He has started in the Premier League and has played in six of the Villans’ last nine outings (Transfermarkt), drawing praise from Dean Smith who regards him as “one for the future”.
