Louie Barry has ended the season in dream fashion, winning the FA Youth Cup with Aston Villa. His side enjoyed a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Villa Park, courtesy of goals from Ben Chrisene and Brad Young.
Barry posted pictures on his Instagram stories, celebrating with teammates and kissing the trophy. It’s been 19 years since Villa last won the competition, so this has been a long time coming.

Barry will be pleased with how this season has gone. He’s shone in the reserves and impressed in the first team when called upon, so his future looks bright. The 17-year-old has made 26 appearances across the board in 2020/21, scoring 20 goals with five assists.
Barry has notched 13 in 17 Premier League 2 games this campaign and bagged one goal in the one FA Cup start he made at senior level, so things couldn’t have gone much better.
The England U18 international will no doubt have his sights set on staying with the first-team next season, but time will tell if Dean Smith gives him the nod – he’ll have Ollie Watkins, Wesley Moraes and Keinan Davis for competition.
