The 2020/21 season has come to an end for Aston Villa and assistant manager John Terry is enjoying his summer holidays with family. The 40-year-old coach has gone to Portugal and posted a picture on his Instagram stories, enjoying the sun while having a healthy bowl of cereal.

Terry has his feet up in the blistering sun with a pool next to him, so he must be having a great time abroad. Coming home might be tricky, however, as Portugal are now on the amber list for travel, meaning holidaymakers have to take multiple tests and quarantine for nearly two weeks.

Terry is having a well-deserved break after playing a large role in Villa’s successful second season back in the Premier League. The Midlands outfit finished 11th in the table with 55 points from 38 games, conceding 46 goals and keeping an impressive 15 clean sheets.

And although the 40-year-old has been linked with a number of managerial vacancies during his time at Villa, it does seem he’s content to stay for the time being. Dean Smith previously gave his endorsement for Terry to pursue his own coaching opportunities, but he’s expected to return to Bodymoor Heath after his summer holiday as things stand.
