Jack Grealish was left out of England’s starting eleven in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Croatia, but he’s hoping to play a role in the Three Lions’ meeting with Scotland on Friday and may have caught the eye with an individual effort in training.

The 25-year-old underwent a typical session with the national team but showcased some ruthless finishing at volleying an effort past Jordan Pickford. Grealish performed some keepy-ups as part of the drill, then hit the ball in the air into the top corner to the cheers of his teammates.

Unfortunately, the England international couldn’t follow up the effort with any more goals in the drill. Grealish fired wide and over with two more shots, but he’ll no doubt hope Gareth Southgate was pleased with his first chance.

Phil Foden, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling all got the nod over Grealish against Croatia, but Foden might be the one given a rest as he wasn’t at his best on Sunday. Time will tell. Nevertheless, Southgate is lucky to be blessed with so much attacking talent.
