Jack Grealish trends as Man City close in on £100m deal

Jack Grealish always had an uncertain future at Aston Villa this summer after impressing upon his club’s return to the Premier League which led to him being linked with a host of European giants.

The 25-year-old had interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, but the Daily Mail say Manchester City are closing in on a £100m deal. Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of Grealish and wants him to accompany Harry Kane at the Etihad Stadium for next season.

Grealish is currently representing England at the 2020 European Championship, but a deal is believed to be on the cards when the tournament is over. This story has unsurprisingly trended on Twitter and is receiving contrasting reactions from opposing camps.

Villa supporters are understandably upset at the prospect of losing such an important player, but City fans are delighted with the news. Grealish had a hand in 18 goals from 26 Premier League games last season, creating 81 chances, winning 110 fouls and making 65 successful dribbles.

He’s one of the best playmakers in the Europe, so City can’t be blamed for making a move. Grealish’s proposed transfer could be confirmed in July when the Euros have ended.
