Douglas Luiz is back in action for Aston Villa after returning from his summer break and posed for a picture alongside Emi Martinez, with his Olympic Gold medal while the latter celebrated his Copa America victory. The snap was posted on his Instagram story.
Luiz represented Brazil at the 2021 Copa America but lost to Argentina in the final. The 23-year-old made the squad at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which went all the way, however, so Luiz and Martinez both enjoyed success this summer.

Villa will be desperate to have Luiz back in action after losing their opening game to Watford. Marvelous Nakamba started alongside John McGinn in the 3-2 defeat at Vicarage Road but may be sacrificed for the Brazilian when Newcastle United come to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
Luiz joined the Midlands outfit in 2019 and has gone on to make 76 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals with five assists. The Brazilian international had to make do with loan moves away when he was at Manchester City, but he’s flourishing in the Premier League after Villa gambled on him.
