Aston Villa host Brentford at Villa Park on Saturday and Douglas Luiz will be dying to make his second appearance after returning from an extended summer holiday following his excursions in the 2021 Copa America and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The 23-year-old reached the final of the Copa America and won Gold in the Olympics, so he was involved in a lot of games and was in need of a break. Luiz missed Villa’s 3-2 defeat to Watford and was rested in their League Cup win over Barrow, but he’s expected to start against Brentford.

The Brazilian international appears to be excited too, posting a series of pictures of himself on Instagram ahead of the clash. Luiz was wearing a black Dolce & Gabbana hoodie on his Instagram story and made a number of faces, but supporters will be anticipating his gameface more than anything.

Villa are currently 10th in the Premier League table with three points from two games. They returning to winning ways when Luiz came back into the side, so they’ll fancy their chances of beating Brentford on the weekend.
