Frederic Guilbert left Aston Villa on deadline day to once again join Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace on a season-long loan, but he’s still keeping supporters updated with his activities.

The 26-year-old put up a picture of himself signing the contract with Strasbourg, posted a snap on Instagram of a training session with the first-team and has since added a funny video on his Instagram story with his daughter.

He was keeping the football away from his daughter and caused her to fall over on her back. Guilbert made 14 appearances in all competitions during his first stint at Strasbourg, scoring one goal with four assists. He’s yet to feature since returning to the Stade de la Meinau due to the international break.

The uncapped French defender should get regular playing time with Les coureurs, but his long-term future at Villa is uncertain.

Dean Smith clearly doesn’t trust Guilbert, having now loaned him out for the third consecutive season (SM Caen in 2018/19) (Strasbourg in 2019/20) (Strasbourg in 2020/21), so it remains to be seen if he’ll be in the manager’s thoughts when he returns from France.

Guilbert has made 32 appearances since joining Villa in 2019, but it remains to be seen if he’ll add to that tally.
