Morgan Sanson posts training pictures on Instagram ahead of Everton clash

Aston Villa welcome Everton to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon and Morgan Sanson is training hard to put himself in contention of making the starting lineup if his Instagram story is anything to go by.

The 27-year-old posted a number of pictures on social media of his training session at Bodymoor Heath and will hope he can get the nod from Dean Smith against the Toffees.

Sanson has a lot to prove this season after a disappointing debut campaign at Villa. The French midfielder joined on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Olympique Lyonnais and has gone on to make only nine appearances in all competitions due to injury.

Sanson has amassed only 291 minutes of football at Villa, so supporters haven’t seen any of him yet. The 27-year-old has returned to fitness, however, and was on the bench in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, so Sanson should be getting an opportunity soon.

Dean Smith may still prefer Douglas Luiz and John McGinn in the engine room, but a fully fit Sanson will be like a new player for Villa.
