Kortney Hause posts pictures on Instagram after League Cup exit

Kortney Hause was one of many players who impressed as Aston Villa were eliminated from the League Cup by Chelsea on Wednesday evening and he shared a post on Instagram and Twitter to mark the occasion.

The 26-year-old shone alongside Axel Tuanzebe and limited Chelsea to just one goal over the 90 minutes, producing the most clearances and winning the most aerial duels. He silenced the prolific and in-form Romelu Lukaku, so few could blame him for sharing a snap of the pair in action.

Hause admitted being delighted with the opportunity to represent Villa and he should be pleased with his performance. He’s made only three appearances in all competitions this season as Dean Smith has preferred Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings and Axel Tuanzebe at centre-back.

But with the 26-year-old doing so well against a Chelsea side currently leading the Premier League table and being one of the favourites to win the League Cup, he might have given Smith a selection headache ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Manchester United.

Villa will be sad to lost on penalties in the cup competition but will take many positives from the game – Hause’s solid showing being one of them.
