Matty Cash posts picture on Instagram after signing shirt for personal chef

Matty Cash will have been disappointed at how Aston Villa’s 3-2 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers ended, but he posted a picture on his Instagram story giving personal chef Chris Garlick a signed shirt to thank him for 10 months of work.

Garlick posted a picture of him and Cash with the signed shirt on his own Instagram and the Villa right-back reposted it with the message ‘been a pleasure mate’.

The 24-year-old has seen his career go on leaps and bounds since he made the switch from Nottingham Forest and his diet may have had a lot to do with it. Cash made the step up from the Championship to the Premier League with ease and has been considered for an England call up too.

He’s made 37 appearances in all competition for Villa, scoring one goal with three assists. Cash is a regular under Dean Smith and continues to impress, so the sky is the limit – he’ll certainly be looking to represent England this season.

Regardless, Cash’s gesture to his former chef was received positively on social media and Garlick considers him a friend after helping his family out in 2021.
