Tim Iroegbunam posts picture on Instagram after EFL Trophy win

Tim Iroegbunam played a full 90 minutes as Aston Villa U21s beat MK Dons 4-2 in Tuesday’s EFL Trophy clash and posted pictures on Instagram to mark the occasion.

The 19-year-old has played every minute of every game in the competition this season while also featuring regularly for the reserves in the Premier League 2, so he could bag himself a call up to the first-team if he impresses.

Iroegbunam joined Villa on a five-year deal from West Bromwich Albion in July and has gone on to make 12 appearances for the U23s, scoring one goal with one assist.

The central midfielder, who has attended England age group training camps, is highly rated and was tipped for a bright future by Academy manager Mark Harrison, so he will be one to watch.

Iroegbunam started alongside Carney Chukwuemeka in midfield against MK Dons and helped Villa secure their third win from three games in the EFL Trophy.

The Midlands outfit topped their group with maximum points and will await their next opponents in the knockout round. Iroegbunam will no doubt hope to keep the run going.
