Fans on social media say Kortney Hause ‘needs upgrading’ as report emerges

Kortney Hause has an uncertain future at Aston Villa as he’s not commanding a starting place under Steven Gerrard and is in the final year of his deal. The 26-year-old finds himself behind Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and Axel Tuanzebe in the pecking order and could be a free agent in the coming months.

Hause does have the option to trigger a one-year extension in his contract, but Gerrard might be looking at upgrading the centre-back at the next available opportunity. Some fans on social media believe Hause should be replaced by a better centre-back too.

Hause joined Villa on a three-year deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers and has gone on to make 52 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals. The 26-year-old has featured just six times across the board this season, spending the majority of his time as an unused substitute, so he might want more opportunities elsewhere.

If Gerrard is looking to bolster his backline in January or the following summer, Hause might be the one for the chop. Time will tell, however.
