Fans on social media ‘can’t see’ Aston Villa selling Hause ‘without replacement’

Kortney Hause has an uncertain future at Aston Villa as he’s surplus to requirements under Steven Gerrard and has recently been linked with a move to West Ham United and Watford.

The 26-year-old find himself beyond Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa in the pecking order, but it’s unlikely he’ll leave in the January transfer window as Axel Tuanzebe has already cut his loan short to Napoli.

Fans on social media don’t believe he’ll be on his way out just yet either. Many think Hause is worth keeping due to the lack of cover, while others say Villa wouldn’t leave themselves short at the back unnecessarily.

Tommy Forbes: “I wouldn’t be so quick (to sell).”

Boban Durex: “We need him.”

Leigh Cowell: “I would keep Hause. I think getting rid could come back to bite us.”

Hause joined Villa on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2019 and turned the move permanently the following summer. He’s gone on to make 53 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.

But he’s not considered a starter under Steven Gerrard and hasn’t set he place alight in the few games he’s played, so his long-term future is uncertain. With Tuanzebe gone, Hause is Villa’s only backup at centre-back, so he’ll have to stay in January.

The likes of West Ham and Watford may have to turn their attentions elsewhere.

In other news, fans on social media say Axel Tuanzebe ‘didn’t perform’ as Aston Villa make transfer decision
