Keinan Davis joined Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season after falling out of favour at Aston Villa and was given glowing praise by Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The 23-year-old found himself behind Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings and Cameron Archer in the pecking order, so he opted for a temporary move away to get first-team football.

Davis has made one appearance for his new club, playing 68 minutes in Forest’s 1-0 win over Arsenal, and Agbonlahor believes supporters will grow to love him.

He told talkSPORT (h/t Nottingham Forest News): “He’s a good player is Keinan Davis. Forest fans will love him. He’s got everything. He’s one of the strongest players I’ve ever played with, to be honest.”

Davis has made 86 appearances in all competitions for Villa, scoring six goals with seven assists. The former England U20 international has two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal at Villa Park but may not see them out.

Davis has featured only once for Villa this season, spending the majority of the campaign as an unused substitute or out of the matchday squad, so the writing appears to be on the wall.

The fact he’s been loaned out to a Championship club suggests he’s found his level, so this summer might see a parting of the ways.
