Fabrizio Romano confirms Aston Villa bid for Chelsea winger

Aston Villa have submitted an official bid to sign Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho as Unai Emery moves to strengthen his attacking options.

Villa have proposed an initial loan containing a clause to make the transfer permanent. Discussions are continuing with Garnacho’s representatives over the conditions of a possible move to Villa Park.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Emery has approved Garnacho as a summer target. Chelsea and Villa must now discuss the structure of the purchase clause and the overall value of the package.

No agreement has been reached with either Chelsea or the player at this stage.

Aston Villa advance Garnacho transfer talks

The official proposal represents a significant step forward after Garnacho was initially discussed during negotiations which took Morgan Rogers to Stamford Bridge.

ReadAstonVilla reported earlier on Tuesday that Villa had held talks over signing the Chelsea winger. The latest update confirms their interest has now developed into a formal offer.

Villa want to add another attacker who can run beyond defenders and operate from the left. Garnacho would provide pace and Premier League experience while offering Emery a different option alongside Ollie Watkins.

Chelsea are willing to discuss the 22-year-old’s departure after he struggled to secure a regular starting role last season. However, Villa may need to improve the guarantees within their proposal if the London club prefer a permanent sale.

Garnacho’s approval will also be crucial. Talks on the player’s side remain active as Villa attempt to convince him of the role he could hold under Emery.

The bid gives Villa an opportunity to add a high-profile attacker without paying the entire transfer fee immediately. Negotiations will now determine whether the buy clause and financial package satisfy Chelsea.
