Aston Villa are facing growing uncertainty over Ezri Konsa, with fresh reports suggesting members of the squad are increasingly resigned to the defender leaving this summer. Liverpool are also monitoring the situation as Arsenal continue their pursuit of the England international.
Konsa has been one of Unai Emery’s most dependable players, but interest from the Premier League’s biggest clubs is refusing to disappear.
A fresh report attributed to Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse says Villa’s squad are becoming increasingly resigned to Konsa’s departure. Arsenal have not abandoned their pursuit, while Liverpool are also monitoring the 28-year-old as they assess defensive reinforcements. The latest report also claims Arsenal remain some way below Villa’s £60million valuation.
Ezri Konsa Aston Villa transfer fears grow
Villa have maintained a strong position throughout the summer and are under no immediate contractual pressure to sell.
Konsa’s current deal runs until 2028, while talks over fresh terms have continued. However, the mood surrounding his future appears to have shifted as Arsenal prepare to test Villa’s resolve again.
ReadAstonVilla reported on Wednesday that Villa were braced for another Arsenal bid for Konsa, with Emery’s side simultaneously attempting to convince the defender to extend his stay.
Liverpool entering the picture would make that task considerably harder.
Konsa offers Premier League experience, versatility across central defence and right-back, and has further strengthened his reputation with England. Losing him would also represent another major departure after Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans left Villa Park this summer.
Villa’s reported £60m valuation therefore makes sense. Any sale would need to leave Emery with enough money and time to secure a suitable replacement before the window closes.
Nothing has been agreed, and Konsa remains an Aston Villa player. Yet the latest Ezri Konsa Aston Villa transfer update suggests the possibility of an exit is now being taken increasingly seriously inside the squad.
