Aston Villa have made an approach to sign Real Madrid forward Endrick on loan as Unai Emery looks to add more competition to his attack.
The 20-year-old is facing a difficult route to regular football at the Bernabéu and AS reports that Villa and Roma have both explored a temporary move.
Real Madrid are understood to be open to another loan if Endrick can join a Champions League club where he will receive meaningful minutes as a centre-forward.
That makes Villa an attractive option, although Roma are also pushing to sign the Brazil international.
Endrick Aston Villa move could add competition for Watkins
Endrick spent the second half of last season with Lyon after Real Madrid officially sanctioned a loan until June 2026.
The move gave him the regular football he had struggled to find in Spain. Endrick finished the campaign with eight goals and seven assists across his appearances for the French club.
His situation has become complicated again following his return to Madrid, where competition for attacking places remains intense.
Villa have been assessing several forwards throughout the summer. ReadAstonVilla previously reported that the club were exploring striker options in case Ollie Watkins or Tammy Abraham departed.
Watkins remains Emery’s established first-choice striker, but Villa are preparing for another Champions League campaign and need enough depth to cope with a demanding schedule.
Endrick would provide a different profile.
The Brazilian is quick, direct and comfortable attacking space behind defenders, while his age means he still has considerable room to develop.
A loan would also allow Villa to strengthen without committing a major permanent fee to another centre-forward.
The major question would be playing time.
Real Madrid want Endrick to join a club where his development will remain the priority, while Villa would still need to balance his minutes with Watkins and their other attacking options.
For now, Villa have joined Roma in making their interest clear.
Whether Emery can offer the pathway Real Madrid and Endrick want could decide how far the move progresses.
