How to watch Wigan vs Aston Villa U21
Supporters in the UK can watch Wigan Athletic against Aston Villa U21 live on Sky Sports+.
Sky Sports lists the EFL Trophy meeting as a 7pm kick-off, with the fixture taking place at Wigan’s home ground.
The competition has regularly provided Villa with opportunities to accelerate the development of their leading academy prospects by placing them against senior EFL players.
That pathway has become increasingly relevant this summer.
Several Villa youngsters have already featured prominently around Unai Emery’s first team during pre-season, with Luka Lynch, George Hemmings, Alysson and Brad Burrowes among those receiving senior minutes.
Tonight’s game should offer another chance for Villa supporters to see which players could be next to push towards Emery’s squad.
Team news is expected closer to kick-off, with the starting XI likely to provide further clues over which academy players Villa currently view as closest to senior football.
For supporters unable to attend, Sky Sports+ provides the easiest way to follow the action live from 7pm.
