The confirmation completes a rapid few days of negotiations.
Jackson completed his Aston Villa medical earlier on Friday before being registered in time to be available against Arsenal on Monday.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, helping the German club win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double while contributing 11 goals.
He now returns to the Premier League as Villa reshape their attack following Ollie Watkins’ departure for Al-Hilal.
Sky Sports reported that Jackson’s Villa transfer could eventually be worth £65m, with Emery moving quickly to secure a replacement for Watkins.
Jackson’s arrival is another major step in the extraordinary Aston Villa squad rebuild taking place this summer.
The immediate focus now turns to Monday night.
Jackson has already been registered and is therefore eligible to make his Aston Villa debut against Arsenal at Villa Park.
