John McGinn and Johan Manzambi Set for Aston Villa International Showdown

Aston Villa teammates John McGinn and Johan Manzambi could go head-to-head when Scotland face Switzerland in the Nations League on Tuesday night.

The Group B1 fixture takes place at Hampden Park on Tuesday 29 September, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm BST.

The Scottish FA has confirmed the fixture details, setting up an intriguing meeting between two important members of Unai Emery’s midfield.

McGinn and Manzambi could meet at Hampden

McGinn started Scotland’s opening 0-0 draw away to Slovenia and completed the match as Sébastien Pocognoli began his reign with a point.

Manzambi has also begun his Nations League campaign in the starting XI.

The 20-year-old played 63 minutes as Switzerland beat North Macedonia 3-0, with our Johan Manzambi international report detailing his involvement in a major VAR incident.

Tuesday could now put the Villa pair directly against one another.

That will be particularly interesting after Manzambi’s rapid emergence under Emery.

The midfielder scored and assisted during Villa’s 3-2 Premier League victory over Tottenham before the international break, while McGinn remains one of the manager’s most trusted players and the club captain.

UEFA’s Nations League schedule confirms Scotland and Switzerland meet at Hampden before both countries continue their four-match international window in October.

Villa return to Premier League action against Brentford on 10 October.
