For the third day running Aston Villa have been linked with a left-back today, Luke Garbutt according to the Birmingham Mail
The two papers are reporting Tim Sherwood is looking at the possibility of loaning the Everton and England Under 21 left-back for the 2015/16 season.
It is understood Villa enquired before the future of Garbutt was decided but the 22-year old recently penned a new five-year deal at the Merseyside club, but manager, Roberto Martinez wants Garbutt to spend next season on loan at a Premier League rival to gain vital experience, as he lines up to replace the aging Leighton Baines.
Garbutt featured 10 times for Everton last season mainly in the cup and in Europe.
Aly Cissokho and Kieran Richardson are both expected to leave this summer, and Sherwood is seeing Garbutt as someone he can grow over the next year and someone who can perform in the Premier League.
No indications are around yet to suggest that Villa have made an approach for Garbutt, but Sherwood is expected to launch a bid after having bids knocked back already for other targets at left-back.
Tim Sherwood’s Left Back Hunt
Tim Sherwood is assessing his options and testing the water in the search of a left-back with TVV reporting twice already this week on links to Ajax captain, Nicolai Boilesen, and Swedish left-back Ludwig Augustinsson.
