Aston Villa’s Aly Cissokho could return to Villa Park much sooner than expected with The Villans short on options at left-back after the long term injury lay off of Jordan Amavi was announced last week.
Gregg Evans from the Birmingham Mail reports that the former-Liverpool man could return in January from a loan spell with Remi Garde keen to have further options at left-back with Kieran Richardson currently preferred.
Cissokho joined Porto on a season-long loan in the summer and has made only one appearance so far for the Portuguese side. He only joined the Midlands side in the summer of 2014 for a nominal fee from Valencia after spending the previous season on loan at Liverpool.
He last played for Villa in February before being out injured for the rest of the 2014/15 season under Tim Sherwood. Cissokho has played under The Villans manager before when at Lyon in the Ligue One.
