Mandanda is out of contract at the end of the season and carries vital experience that would put Brad Guzan under real pressure. He is also capped at international level for France making 21 appearances. He has made over 300 appearances for Marseille and has garnered a reputation for his solid displays. Mandanda’s current contract runs out next summer.

Meanwhile, Benoit Costil is probably the lesser known of the two players being watched. The Rennes goalkeeper has been at the French Ligue 1 side since 2011 and has made over 150 appearances to date. He has represented France at youth level but is yet to make a senior appearance for his country despite being called up.
