Remi Garde has admitted in his press conference that Ashley Cole is a player that interests him as he looks to strengthen his squad with experience in the upcoming transfer window next month.
During Thursday’s press conference the Villa boss talked about how Cole ‘is a good player’ who interests him like every other ‘good player’. Garde talked about how ‘experience’ was required in the Villa ranks and that the former-Chelsea left-back had experience under his belt.
The Villans manager revealed that he would ‘speak soon’ to the club ahead of next month as he looks to steer Aston Villa out of the relegation zone and away from the melee come April/May. He added that ‘We (Aston Villa) know what we want to do” suggesting that he already has transfer targets in mind.
Does Cole solve issues? – Matt Lynch
The simple answer to this question is yes. Ashley Cole has bags of experience as Remi Garde points out. The only downside is that age is not on Cole’s side and he has not played regular football at A.S Roma since moving from Chelsea.
Despite his lack of minutes on the pitch in recent times you cannot deny that Cole is one of the greatest left-backs of the century and would be a superb coup for Villa as long as he isn’t looking for one last payday.
