Struggling Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a move for experienced French midfielder Jeremy Toulalan as Remi Garde looks to bolster his midfield ahead of his side’s battle against relegation this season. Simon Mullock from The Mirror reports.
Garde has already expressed his concerns regarding the leaky Aston Villa defence and is hoping to strengthen their defensive capabilities when the January transfer window comes around.
This news comes as owner Randy Lerner has assured Garde that the Frenchman will have money at his disposal in January to give his team the best possible chance of remaining in the Premier League.

Toulalan, who is currently plying his trade at French giants AS Monaco, will be available for a sum as cheap as £5 million in the winter transfer window and offers exactly what Garde and Aston Villa will need in the form of defensive versatility and experience.
However, Villa do face competition from Spanish side Atletico Madrid for Toulalan’s services, with Diego Simeone also looking to strengthen his midfield with the 32-year-old.
Toulalan has played 64 games for Monaco since joining in 2013, as well as racking up an impressive 36 appearances for his native France.
