Aston Villa have started their January transfer business early according to reports in France with The Villans contacting Marseille over the goalkeeper, Steve Mandanda.
RMC Sport claim that the Villa hierarchy have spoken to the Ligue 1 outfit about bringing the French international to Villa Park with Mandanda finding himself out of favour this campaign.
Mohamed Bouhafsi writes that Villa have also made a move for the Bordeaux attacking midfielder Wahbi Khazri. The Tunisian international has scored four times in eight appearances so far this season and could be the second signing of January for Remi Garde.
The article goes on to mention that Villa would also add a relegation clause into the contract of the latter player mentioned.
Too little to late? – Matt Lynch
Mandanda is a proven goalkeeper, but he also has the slight error in him. There are no doubts though that he is a world class keeper, unlike Brad Guzan who has not impressed for large parts of this season.
Meanwhile, the link for an attack minded player is great, but again he is an unproven quantity like the majority of Villa’s summer signings. We need experience and goals, not someone unproven.
