Aston Villa have launched a move for the Croation international goalkeeper, Lovre Kalinic who currently plays his first team football for Hadjuk Split.
La Lazio Siamo Noi, a Naples news outlet report how The Villans are in pole position to sign the goalkeeper who has appeared 71 times for Split since making his debut in 2009.
The 25-year old has attracted interest from Italy in Lazio and Inter Milan, but Kalinic is not attracted by Inter due to Samir Handanovic recently signing a new deal.
Meanwhile, Lazio have reportedly agreed a deal for the keeper, but Villa remain an attractive option as he hopes for a space on Croatia’s Euro 2016 squad.
Villa are also prepared to pay €5-million for Kalinic as Remi Garde looks to strengthen his squad ahead of mounting a fight against the threat of relegation.
Brad Guzan has struggled for large parts of the current campaign with errors littering performances.
