Burnley look unlikely to make a move for Gabriel Agbonlahor, despite previous links to the forward.
The Lancashire Telegraph report that Burnley have not put a formal bid in for the forward and that a move to The Clarets is ‘wide of the mark’.
Agbonlahor has found himself out of favour at Villa so far this campaign only making a handful of appearances under Tim Sherwood and no appearances under Remi Garde.
The report states Agbonlahor would prefer a move to a Premier League side over a move down a league. He has already been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers this window and a move looks inevitable for the Villa veteran.
The 29-year old made his debut in 2006 and has since gone on to make 315 appearances in a Villa shirt while finding the net 73 times – he has found goals hard to come by in recent years though picking up more bookings than goals in the past four years.
